Consul-General Song Yumin met with Vice Chancellor of La Trobe University John Dewar

On 14 May, Consul General Song Yumin met with Vice Chancellor of La Trobe University John Dewar, Executive Vice Chancellor Jane Long.

Chancellor John Dewar expressed gratitude for the support and help extended by the Chinese Consulate to La Trobe University over the years, and he hoped that the two sides would have more communication and cooperation. He said, La Trobe University was the first Australian university to accept Chinese students, and it attaches high importance to Chinese alumni. Last year it especially invited Chinese alumni back to school. Chancellor John talked about the cooperation between La Trobe University and Chinese universities, and expressed his readiness to do a good job in running the China Center and the Confucius Institute at La Trobe University.

Consul-General Song commended the deep cooperation between La Trobe University and Chinese universities, and encouraged the China Center and the Confucius Institute at La Trobe University to play a bigger role. The Consulate will continue to facilitate and promote communication and cooperation between Chinese universities and La Trobe University.

Counselor Zhaojiang and Consul Chi Gang attended the meeting.
