On the evening of 28 February 2015, the Melbourne Arts Center Hammer Hall resounded with the Spring Festival Overture. It is the second year for the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra to present the East Meets West---Chinese New Year Concert with the famous conductor and composer Tan Dun. The concert rich in historical and cultural elements has intensified the happy festive atmosphere of the Spring Festival in Melbourne. Chinese Ambassador to Australia Ma Zhaoxu, Consul-General to Melbourne Song Yumin, Vice Consul-General to Melbourne Lin Jing, H.E. Governor of Victoria Chernov, President of the Legislative Council in Victorian Parliament the Hon Bruce Atkinson, guests from various sectors and over 2000 audience were present at the concert.
