On October 11, the 16th Australian Chinese Debate Championship was held at the University of Melbourne. Ding Li, Consul (Counsellor Rank) responsible for education affairs at the Chinese Consulate-General in Melbourne, attended the event upon invitation and delivered remarks. More than 100 Chinese students representing debate teams from the University of Melbourne, the University of New South Wales, the Australian National University, the University of Queensland, the University of Adelaide, and other universities participated in the competition.

In her remarks, Ding encouraged Chinese students to take the Four Global Initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping as their guiding principles, deepen mutual understanding and build consensus through dialogue and debate, actively promote exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, share China's perspectives and stories with the world, and serve as young ambassadors of friendship between China and Australia.

After rounds of intense competition, the University of Melbourne team emerged as the champion, while the Australian National University team secured second place. As a premier Chinese-language debating competition in Australia, the Australian Chinese Debate Championship continues to nurture outstanding debating talent and provide a strong talent pool for Chinese-language debate competitions across Australia and around the world.
