The Oceania Regional Competition of the 2026 World Vocational College Skills Competition was successfully held on September 23 at Box Hill Institute in Melbourne, Australia. Hosted by China’s Ministry of Education and jointly organized by Ningbo City College of Vocational Technology and Box Hill Institute, the competition was themed “Showcasing Youth Skills, Creating the Future.”

As a newly established overseas regional competition in 2026, the Oceania Regional Competition featured two tracks—Forestry and Next-Generation Information Technology—and brought together 12 teams from vocational education institutions in Australia, New Zealand and other countries. A total of two Gold Awards, two Silver Awards and four Bronze Awards were presented.

Ding Li, Counsellor for Education Affairs at the Chinese Consulate-General in Melbourne, Grant Radford, Chief Executive Officer of Box Hill Institute, Craig Robertson, Executive Director of Skills at the Victorian Government, and representatives of Ningbo City College of Vocational Technology attended the closing and award ceremony.

The competition provided a platform for vocational students from Australia and across Oceania to showcase their skills and exchange expertise, further promoting exchanges and cooperation in vocational education between China, Australia and other countries in the region. The two Gold Award-winning teams will travel to Tianjin, China in October to participate in the ranking competition of the 2026 World Vocational College Skills Competition finals.
