Consul General Fang Xinwen Attends "Sichuan Cuisine from China, Taste for the World" Event for celebrating the 10th anniversary of the establishment of sister-province/state relations between Sichuan Province and Victoria

On May 21, Consul General Fang Xinwen attended and addressed the "Sichuan Cuisine from China, Taste for the World" event. Also present were Yu Xianhe, Vice President of the Sichuan Overseas Friendship Association; John Mullahy MP, representing the Premier and Minister for Multicultural Affairs of Victoria; Federal MPs Dr. Carina Garland and Gabriel Ng; Cr Andrew Rowse, representing the Lord Mayor of Melbourne; Lev Lafayette, President of the Australia-China Friendship Society Victorian Branch; Chen Yunguo, Chairman of Chinese Association Victoria; Zhou Li, Vice President of Chinese Cuisine Federation Australia and Sichuan Association of Australia; and Deputy Consul General Liu Dongyuan and Counselor Consul Ding Li.

In his speech, Consul General Fang warmly congratulated Sichuan and Victoria on the 10th anniversary of their sister-province/state relations and highly praised the achievements of exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in various fields. He introduced the situation and outcomes of the recent meeting between heads of state of Chinese and US , emphasizing that the meeting injected stability and positive energy into the world and will also have a positive impact on the development of China-Australia relations and subnational cooperation. The Consulate General is willing to work with all parties to promote the sister-province/state relations between Sichuan and Victoria into the next "golden decade."

Vice President Yu Xianhe, John Mullahy MP, and other guests who delivered speeches, warmly congratulated Sichuan and Victoria on the 10th anniversary of their sister-province/state relations. They stated that the cooperation between the two sides has been fruitful and has benefited the people of both countries. They expressed their willingness to continue deepening practical cooperation and cultural exchanges, and to make greater contributions to promoting subnational cooperation between China and Australia.
