Deputy Consul General Liu Dongyuan Attends Closing Ceremony of the 3rd Australian International Martial Arts Festival

On 10 May , Deputy Consul General Liu Dongyuan attended and addressed the closing ceremony of the 3rd Australian International Martial Arts Festival, co-hosted by the Australian Dongwu Tai Chi Alliance and the Australian Wushu Culture Centre. Her Excellency Professor the Honourable Margaret  Gardner AC sent a congratulatory letter to the event. Ms Sonja Terpstra MP, Whitehorse Mayor Cr Kirsten Langford, Manningham Mayor Cr Jim Grivas, and the organizing committee chairperson Wendy Jiang, among others, were also present. More than 600 people, including martial arts masters and contestants, participated the festival.

Deputy Consul General Liu warmly congratulated the festival, stating that martial arts is a treasure of excellent traditional Chinese culture. She noted that this event was beneficial for inheriting and promoting Chinese martial arts culture and fostering people-to-people exchanges between China and Australia. She hoped that the Chinese community would continue to use martial arts as a bond and culture as a bridge to promote mutual understanding between the people of China and Australia.


Ms Sonja Terpstra MP and other speakers highly praised martial arts culture and the Chinese community, expressing their continued support for the development of multiculturalism.
