On November 30, Deputy Consul General Liu Dongyuan attended the 2024 Victoria Chinese Language Teaching Symposium and gave a speech. Ms Liu appreciated all Chinese language teachers for their efforts and contributions to helping local youth in learning Chinese and understanding Chinese culture. The Chinese Language Teaching Symposium would promote the better development of Chinese education in the consular region. She hoped the Chinese government’s newly introduced 30-day visa-free policy to China will facilitate more local students to study and travel in China, gaining a deeper understanding of modern China.

The symposium was organized by the Chinese Language Teachers’ Association of Victoria, and covered topics like the promotion of Chinese education, Chinese teaching methods, textbook development and evaluation and comparative study of Chinese language education in Australia and the United States. Consul Li Linze and Vice Consul Sun Mengli from our consulate, along with Chinese language teachers from 31 primary schools, secondary schools and universities, attended the symposium.
