Consul General Fang Xinwen Attends the Teochew Chinese Community Association of Victoria's Charity Donation Ceremony

On May 4, Consul General Fang Xinwen was invited to attend the charity donation ceremony organized by the Teochew Chinese Community Association of Victoria. More than 100 people participated in the event, including Victorian MP Meng Heang Tak, former MP Hong Lim, Mayor Jim Memeti of Greater Dandenong, Monash City Councillor Nicky Luo, representatives from Monash Children’s Hospital and Box Hill Hospital, and members of the Teochew Association's board.

In his speech, Consul General Fang praised the Teochew Association for its long-standing commitment to charitable giving. He noted that this donation is not only a vivid example of the traditional Chinese virtues of benevolence but also reflects the strong community spirit of Chinese associations in Victoria in giving back to society. He expressed a willingness to work with all sectors in the consular district to advance a more mature, stable, and productive China-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, for the benefit of both nations and their people.

MP Meng Heang Tak and other guest speakers expressed gratitude for the Teochew Association’s charitable contributions to local hospitals and spoke highly of the positive contributions of the Chinese community to local society.
