On April 29, Consul General Fang Xinwen met with the Hon. Danny Pearson MP, Victorian Minister for Economic Growth and Jobs and Minister for Finance, accompanied by Counsellor Mr. Bian Changzheng.

Consul General Fang noted that the Chinese economy has maintained a positive momentum in early 2025, and bilateral economic and trade cooperation between China and Australia has grown increasingly close. He emphasized that China remains committed to high-quality development and will continue to expand practical cooperation with Australia, bringing tangible benefits to businesses and peoples of both countries. China remains firmly committed to upholding the multilateral trading system, the international rules and order. China will continue to advance high-level opening-up, oppose all forms of unilateralism and protectionism, and promote shared development opportunities with all countries.

The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on further strengthening economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between China and the State of Victoria.
